about

Mirliani’s first full-length LP under his own name, Over Thinking comes after several previous attempts at a full-length album (a scrapped project called "The Owl" was intended for a 2017 release). Consisting of songs conceived and recorded after his 2018 one-man show at The Tank in Manhattan, Over Thinking largely documents a quarter-life crisis, and spans multiple themes and events: a move to New York City, disappointment and heartbreak in the gay dating scene, disillusionment with politics and world events, nostalgia for suburban life, and guilt over a conservative past. The album obtains a lighter tone in its final tracks, indicative of the love Mirliani eventually finds which restores his faith. The album incorporates elements of synth-pop, Vaporwave, darkwave, ambient, sadcore, and 70's/80's rock.
